End of Boko Haram imminent, Says Cleric

General Overseer of Intercessory Prayer Ministries (IPM), Prophet ThankGod Abam believes that the end of an era of insurgency, their sponsors and sympathizers in the country had commenced.
Abam stated this during the second anniversary of IPM/fund raising of N1.5b church permanent site project in Abuja, noting that none of the sponsors and sympathizers will go unpunished, adding that the Lord had started dealing with them. “God has started dealing with them and none of them will escape; anyone that has ever contributed for the bloodshed will not go scot-free,” Abam said.
The guest preacher, Prophet Dauda Maiwa-azi is also of the opinion that those who cause chaos in the nation would not go unpunished, urging Nigerians to unite in prayer against all enemies of the country. He  explained that people with extraordinary faith backed with action are visited with divine grace and abundance.

Child Abuse; Vatican Defrocks 848 Priests, Sanctions 2,572

The Vatican released comprehensive statistics for the first time Tuesday on how it has disciplined priests accused of raping and molesting children, saying 848 priests have been defrocked and another 2,572 given lesser sanctions over the past decade.
The Vatican's U.N. ambassador in Geneva, Archbishop Silvano Tomasi, revealed the figures during a second day of grilling by a U.N. committee monitoring implementation of the U.N. treaty against torture.
Tomasi insisted the convention applied only inside the tiny Vatican City state. But he nevertheless released statistics about how the Holy See has adjudicated sex abuse cases globally, and significantly, he didn't dispute the committee's contention that sexual violence against children can be considered torture.
Tomasi said that since 2004, more than 3,400 credible cases of abuse had been referred to the Vatican, including 401 cases in 2013 alone. He said that over the last decade, 848 priests had been defrocked, or returned to the lay state by the pope. Another 2,572 were sentenced to a lifetime of penance and prayer or some other lesser sanction, which is often used when the accused priest is elderly or infirm.
Acknowledging the high number of priests sanctioned with the lesser punishment, Tomasi said it still amounted to disciplinary action and that the abuser is "just put in a place where he doesn't have any contact with the children."
The Associated Press in January reported that then-Pope Benedict XVI had defrocked 384 priests in the final two years of his pontificate, citing documentation Tomasi's delegation had prepared for another U.N. committee hearing that matched data contained in the Vatican's statistical yearbooks.
Tomasi told the AP on Tuesday that those figures from January were "incomplete" and that the data he provided the torture committee Tuesday -- the first ever year-by-year breakdown of how cases were adjudicated -- was complete.
He told the committee that "there is no climate of impunity but there is a total commitment to clean the house" and prevent more abuse.
"I think we have crossed a threshold so to say in our evolution of the approach to these problems," he concluded. "It's clear that the issue of sexual abuse of children, which is a worldwide plague and scourge, has been addressed in the last 10 years by the church in a systematic, comprehensive, constructive way."

Nigeria's Oldest Rev. Fr., Pedro Dies at 103

Last week, the Catholic community and the country at large were thrown into mourning when news filtered that Nigeria’s Oldest Reverend Father, Monsignor (Col.) Pedro Ayodele Martins of the Archdiocese of Lagos, passed on. He was aged 103 and had a been a priest for 70 years .
A statement made available to Sunday Newswatch by the Archdiocese read: ‘’ With gratitude to God the giver of life, we announce the passing away of Msgr. Pedro Ayodele Martins this morning at the age of 103 years ’’
Born in 1911, the young Martins was the second but first surviving child of Marcelino Domingo Martins and Regina Clarice Martins. He was ordained a priest by Bishop Patrick J Kelly SMA of Benin City in present day Edo State on August 8, 1943. After his Ordination, he then proceeded to the University College, Cork, Ireland.

During his life-time, he filled many positions of responsibility, teaching at St Gregory’s College in Lagos as well as ministering in several parishes throughout the Archdiocese. He also served as Vicar General to the immediate past Archbishop of Lagos, now Anthony Cardinal Okogie. In 1970, he was made Monsignor. During his military career he served with the Nigerian Armed Forces, rising to the position of Head Chaplain to the Armed Forces. He served in the Congo and with many Army formations in Nigeria.
Reacting to the news of his death, a lecturer and formator at the SS Peter and Paul Major Seminary, Bodija, Ibadan, Reverend Father Melchiezedek Okpala, said that God had finally called Monsignor Martins home. ‘’ When I heard the news, my first instinct was thanks be to God because he had wanted this for a very long time and now, God had finally called him home. We must celebrate his long, illustrious life, legacy and give thanks to God for this dinosaur of a man’’
Also speaking to Sunday Newswatch, Project Director at Saint Albert the Great Major Seminary, Reverend Father Julius Olaitan, said Nigeria has truly lost a great man. ‘’ We just lost a great Nigerian and a wonderful priest. Baba was there for us all as a sign of God’s enduring love’’.
He added that even in his old age and frail nature, he was a courageous father who linked the young to their history and sought to help everyone remain in touch with God. ’’ We will definitely miss his elderly and wise counsel, his great sense of humour and spiritual guidance,’’ he said.

Believe My Prophesies, Lagos is Next Hit By Boko Haram....Soul E Laments

Self acclaimed prophet, Soul E, has once again stood his ground that God is using him to spread the gospel and anyone that cares to listen, should abide by his word.

Soul E has urged Nigerians especially Lagosians to be careful as God has revealed to him that Lagos is the next target for the Boko Haram hit.

According to the prophet, he gave another book of Psalms from the portion 90, 24. He added that if everyone could believe the message and abide by the Bible portions, then God will manifest his powers.

Recall that some time ago, the one time showbiz personality has given several prophesies about bomb blasts in the country, but feels that people do not believe in things that he says. But urges people to know that those words do not come from him but from God.

How Pastor Adeboye, Bishop Oyedepo, Chris Oyakhilome And TB Joshua Can Destroy Boko Haram

If the Christian community is not divided by doctrine and the we-are-better-than-you attitude, if Christendom has love Boko Haram cannot keep destroying lives especially the life of Christians as easy as a walk in the park. This heartless group of Monsters started by bombing churches while people were worshiping their God then moved on to other locations, now they are back to dealing with Christians as the released Chibok abducted girls’ list shows that 90% of the girls are Christians.

It is heart breaking to see this evil group continuously mess with the church, the body of Christ, the anointed of God! It is more annoying when one remembers that this is a country blessed with over 10 world class heavy weight spiritual champions like Papa Adeboye, Bishop Oyedepo, T.B Joshua, Chris Oyakhilome, who can just speak and this group will go into extinction!

By a prophet God saved Israel and by a Prophet he preserved them. Where are the Prophets in Nigeria? We need our Prophets to arise and preserve this nation. We need our Prophets to speak the word of God over Nigeria.

SOLUTION:

The solution here is, these men of God should call for a non-denominational just one night Virgil under one roof to pray for Nigeria. Imagine a Virgil with E.A Adeboye, Chris Oyakhilome, Bishop Oyedepo, T.B Joshua, Tunde Bakare, the Catholic Church, all the men of God in Nigeria gathered under one roof with their members to call upon God to step into the Nigerian situation? It will shake this nation. It will shatter all the chains holding the progress and unity of Nigeria.

CHALLENGES:

The challenge here is the question the Bible asked, “Can two work together except they agree?” this is the one billion naira question. How can these Spiritual War Lords throw their differences behind and do the needful? How can other Pastors who are CAN members agree to work with the likes of T.B Joshua and Chris Oyakhilome who are not? Who will make the first move? Who will take it upon himself to unite the Nigerian part of the body of Christ? Can the President of CAN, Pastor Oritsejafor do what the challenge of today demands?

Who is asking God for the solutions of the Nigerian problems? There is a reason why this happening mostly to the Christian community, it is time for the Lions to roar!

PLEASE COULD THE REAL LIONS STAND UP AND ROAR, BOKO HARAM IS KILLING GOD’S CHILDREN!

Gowon blames Fulani herdsmen terror on politicians

Chairman/Convener, Nigeria Prays, General Yakubu Gowon (rtd) yesterday in Abakaliki blamed the killings and gun running by fulani herdsmen on politicians.
Gowon who made the declaration when he led the delegation of Nigeria Prays organisation to Governor Martin Elechi, identified prayer as the main tool to be used in solving the numerous security challenges confronting the nation.
Gowon who is the Chairman of the movement, noted that Nigerians should use prayers to commit the country into God’s hands due to the seriousness of the security problem.
Said he: “I find it difficult to believe that it is the Fulani herdsmen who are predominantly little children that cause the mayhem in some parts of the country.
“These children carry sticks and lead their cattle on pasture across the country but now some people put on Fulani clothes and perpetrate crisis.
“The question is, how the transformation from little cattle-rearers to criminals took place; as we should continue to pray that God touches their hearts of these disgruntled elements to change”.
He noted that the seriousness of the security challenges makes it imperative for Nigerians to seek God’s grace to restore the desired peace in the country. “The power of prayer is stronger than all physical powers we have as when it touches our souls, we become the right instruments God wants us to be. “In the Bible, Saul was persecuting the Christians but when God’s power touched him, he became the strongest disciple that ever propagated God’s word,” he said.
He called on residents of the state to turn out en masse at the prayer summit being organised by the Nigeria Prays on Sunday (today) to intercede for the end of the insurgency and other problems confronting the country.
Responding, Governor Elechi thanked the former Head of State for his fatherly role in the country and for leading the vanguard to salvage the country through prayers.
“Gowon became the Head of State at the age of 31, bravely waded through the civil war period and is now leading ordained men of God to seek solutions to the nation’s problems.
“He has remained relevant in all regimes since leaving office both military and civilian, as he insults no one but gives fatherly advice to successive governments,” he said.
He advised Nigerians to rally round in solving the nation’s problems to ensure it develops rapidly and becomes conducive for all to live in.
