Tragedy
has struck Bible Mount Zion Baptist Church in Georgia where the senior pastor,
Rev Teddy Parker, a man who preaches against suicide, took his own life in his
room while his wife and other members of the church were waiting for him at the
church auditorium.
Before he killed himself, his members say Pastor Parker had complained about his disconnection with God in an unusual way that was troubling him...
Before he killed himself, his members say Pastor Parker had complained about his disconnection with God in an unusual way that was troubling him...
"I try to pray but I don’t feel like God is hearing me,” Pastor Parker had told his congregation. “I try to serve but I don’t feel like God is using me. And there are times in your life when God purposely withdraws from you, he doesn’t withdraw for the sake of leaving you but he withdraws so you can grow and mature.”
According to investigation,
Pastor Parker went into his room at the end of First Service on Sunday where he
is said to have shot himself in the head with his own gun, unknown to his family
and others in church. After they waited for long, some senior members of the
church went to look for him but met his lifeless body.
“I’m very surprised because he didn’t preach that. He preached
totally against it. It’s something that the congregation don’t really
understand,” a church member, Russell Rowland, told the Post.
What could have pushed a pastor to take his own life? This world is really
a mystery!
