Bishop Kukah calls for prayers for release of Chibok girls

Bishop Hassan Kukah, Catholic Bishop of Sokoto Diocese, has called on Nigerians to embark on fervent prayers for the successful rescue of the abducted Chibok school girls.
Kukah made the call on Sunday when he led a peaceful protest in Sokoto to press for the urgent release of the girls.
He said that the Nigerian and foreign security operatives needed prayers from all well-meaning Nigerians to ensure God’s intervention in their ongoing rescue operations.
The bishop said that the members of the diocese had been praying for God to expose all those that had hands in the current security challenges facing the country.
Kukah also called on Nigerians to offer intelligence reports to security agencies for the arrest and prosecution of those responsible for the senseless killings of innocent souls in the country.
He added that such information would enable the security agencies to evolve more security measures that would nip the problem in the bud and restore peace to many dark spots in the country.
Kukah then called for better funding of the security agencies to enable them to effectively confront security threats facing the nation.
