YABATECH hosts Bishop Mike Okonkwo Cup

Both Kings F.C of Ketu and title holders, Rehoboth of Obanikoro will clash in the final of the Bishop Mike Okonkwo Football Cup on Saturday, August 31 at the Yabatech Sports Complex Lagos.
Kings F.C booked their final ticket after out cklassing Radiant F.C of Egbe 3 nil in last Saturday’s semi-final game decided all the National Institute for Sports (NIS) ground, National Stadium, Surulere, Lagos while Rehoboth hammered Oworo All Stars 4 – 2.

Top officials of The Redeemed Evangelical Mission (TREM) are certain of a classy Mike Okonkwo final of the football cup that is part of activities marking the 68th anniversary of the presiding Bishop of TREM, Dr. Mike Okonkwo
Chairman of the Local Organizing Committee (LOC) of the Bishop Mike Okonkwo Cup, Deacon Malacky Ndubuzor said after the semi-final fixtures that the final at Yabatech would be graced by several eminent personalities, including the Bishop himself.
REM and former Super Eagles Goalkeeper, Peter Rufai who flagged off the Mike Okonkwo Cup with a workshop put together for coaches of the registered clubs for the tournament and players on June 1, 2013 at the NIS.
Deacon Malacky said Bishop Okonkwo’s love and support for youth sports development informed the institution of the football championship 11 seasons back.
The Deacon concluded that other programmes as Bishop Okonkwo clocks 68 are the 14th Mike Okonkwo Annual lecture on September 5, at Muson centre, project Nu-wine finals on September 6, Men can we talk? Special edition on September 7, before climaxing with a special thanksgiving service at the TREM Headquarters Lagos on Sunday, September 9, 2013.
