NGO donates N70 million church building

A Non-Governmental Organisation, Chinedu Ogah Foundation, has donated a N70 million church building edifice, to the Abakaliki diocese of the Catholic Church.
A residential building constructed by the foundation was also presented to the parish priest of Item Amagu, Ikwo local government area of Ebonyi State during the occasion.

Speaking at the official handing over and dedication of the church building in Item Amagu community, the founder and facilitator, Comrade Chinedu Ogah, stated that “I was touched by the harsh experiences the residents of the community are subjected to before assessing places of worship.”
Comrade Ogah said the foundation had, over the years, provided social amenities to the community, in addition to securing employment for youths in the area.
Speaking at the inaugural mass, the parish priest of St Stephen parish, Agubia Ikwo, Reverend Father Augustus Nweze, enjoined Christians to desist from evil practices.
In his contribution, the parish priest of the newly dedicated church, Rev Fr John Okoro, commended Comrade Ogah for the kind gestures.
Notable parishioners who graced the occasion included the former senator representing Ebonyi Central Zone in the National Assembly, Senator Emmanuel Onwe, and a former Managing Director of Spring Bank, Mr Mike Chukwu who commended Ogah for his philanthropy.
