Clerics pray for safe return of Chibok Girls

Over 1000 prophets led by Apostle Emma David Okafoagu Friday converged at the Ecumenical Center Abuja to pray for the safe return of Chibok girls, peace and unity in Nigeria. Apostle Okafoagu, who is the Archbishop of New Covenant Mission and international and the President of Masterseed Pentecostal, Evangelical College of Bishops and Ministers Network urged Christians and non-Christians to keep praying for peace and unity in the country and the safe return of Chibok girls. Speaking with journalists in Abuja, he said, “The National Prayer for Nigeria has become necessary in the light of the numerous challenges the nation has been going through”, adding that “in the past, when the nation faced similar challenges and threats, we had resorted to prayers and God answered”. “So, as we now face what can no doubt be described as ‘perilous times’ in our nation, let us arise and pray, knowing that God has always been faithful in responding to our passionate petitions,” he said. Besides the 1000 prophets, Christians from across the states of Nigeria and around the world also joined in this year’s prayer for repentance
