Pastor Adeboye Advises Nigerians to work hard for excellence – Adeboye
The General Overseer of the Redeemed Christian Church of God, Pastor Enoch Adeboye, has charged Nigerians to exhibit the act of hard work, fear of God, integrity and attitude of praises as that remain panaceas for greatness in life and ministry.
Adeboye made this known at a special prayer and thanksgiving service for the members of educational sector organised recently by the Redeemed Christian Church of God, national headquarters, Throne of Grace, Ebutte-Metta, Lagos.
The programme tagged: Excellence brought together hundreds of academics, vice chancellors, lecturers, students across the country, which featured prayers, thanksgiving service and prophetic ministration.
According to him, God is willing to take an individual from the level of mediocrity to the height of excellence when we exhibit the acts of hard work, selfless sacrifice, generous giving and a heart of gratitude to him.
Adeboye noted that God never made anyone a mediocre as his original plan for mankind in creation has nothing to do with mediocrity.
He cited in the scriptures that Solomon, David, Abraham offered the sacrifice of praises, gratitude, obedience and faithfulness to God’s word and thereafter were blessed by God and attained excellence in life.
Adeboye said, “Excellence is not necessarily the best because one can be the best among failures but excellence is 100% which is so good that cannot be better.”
He also pointed out the life of Elisha who offered the service of loyalty and selflessness to prophet Elijah in the midst of uncertainties. He said, “he ended up becoming the master of the sons of the prophet.”
Adeboye recalled a poem written in 1959 which stated that greatness is not attained by men through sudden flight but while their companions slept, they were climbing the height and made frantic effort to stay in the height.
He added that God has blessed Nigeria and it will be great again if the people will surrender their lives and times to him, so that he can take them to a greater level of greatness in life.
