Flee From God’s Looming Wrath , Adeboye Warns Christians

It was a much sober atmosphere unlike what obtained in former gatherings at the popular Redemption Camp of the Redeemed Christian Church of God. The year’s convention titled ‘Jesus’ had all but one of the trappings of previous ones, as the General Overseer of the church, Pastor E.A. Adeboye warned worshippers that it was a fearful thing to fall in the hands of an angry God.
Adeboye, fondly called ‘Daddy G.O.” said there were many indications to show that God was angry with a sinning generation. He stated this in one of his addresses to the sea of heads that attended this year’s edition of the convention.
According to Adeboye, “sin attracts God’s displeasure. It has never been in the interest of man to disobey God. Making vows and not keeping them brings the displeasure of God. Let your yes be yes and your no, no. Total disobedience to God’s commands can lead to the downfall of a person. Sin draws man to God’s wrath; it attracts his displeasure.”
He added that when a man’s ways displeases God and the Almighty leaves him, it opens the leeway for the devil to have access to that man’s life. “The only way to live a righteous life is to obey all of God’s commands. His commandments are wisdom and a light on our path.”
He however warned Christians not to be lukewarm in their expression of faith to God, just as he added that “if you want to serve God, serve with all your heart and if you choose to serve idols, don’t mix it with Christianity because God is a jealous God, visiting a man’s sin to his seventh generation.”
He further informed that other cankerworm of displeasure to God could be seen when men doubt his ability to do the impossible.
He took time off to warn murderers and evildoers to desist from such practice because “God will especially visit you in his anger.”
It was obvious that the facilities provided to make this year’s edition a success were stretched to their limits as the crowd kept increasing as the weeklong continued. It was impossible to adequately manage the crowd. Speaking with Sunday Tribune, some of the worshippers who spoke on the condition of anonymity stated that the programme was a blessing.
One of the worshippers stated that “the programme is a blessing. Although we usually have hiccups but they should be expected. I am happy to be here because I know that God has blessed me.”
Another stated that “coming here is a pilgrimage of sort. I can tell you categorically that God does the impossible here. We are very glad. I am very glad in particular. I am confident that God’s blessings will remain permanent in our lives.”
