Apostle Toluwani disclosed this during a press conference to herald the burial activities of Obadare, held at C.A.C Wosem Revival Centre, Ketu, Lagos State, on Thursday. The cleric, who used the proverbial biblical burial of Prophet Elisah, who, according to him, was not given a befitting burial by his followers when he died.
He stressed further that the burial committee was working day and night to give Apostle Obadare, who died on March 21, 2013, a befitting burial. He explained, using the story of Joseph Arimatheaus in the Bible, who, despite the fact that he was not one of the disciples of Jesus Christ, insisted to have his corpse when He died so as to give him a befitting burial.
“The death of our father is precious to us and we have decided to give him a world class burial and celebrate him even in death. He’s a world renowned Apostle, who impacted on many lives positively when he was alive”.
Speaking further, he said that despite some of the issues that had been on ground before the death of Apostle Obadare, he was optimistic that his demise would reunite all the warring factors, who had hitherto been at loggerheads with one another.
“Nobody can claim that he’s the owner of Baba, we are all beneficiaries of his prophetic ministry. If there had been issues before and after his death, I can assure you that there was nothing like that again. Everybody is working together for the success of the burial and I know that even Baba himself will be happy as we speak,” he said.
He hinted further that the burial programmes will start with lying-in-state/ service of songs at the National Stadium, Surlere, Lagos State on August 8, 2013; on commendation service/ service of songs at all C.A.C council headquarters; another lying-in-state would hold at the Koseunti Prayer Ground, Akure, Ondo State.
Another lying-in-state and service of songs/ Christian wake-keep will hold on August 16, at the new WOSEM international conference ground, Osun State, just as the final burial service comes up the next day at the same venue.
