The Conspiracy in the Church 2

JUDGE NOT THAT YE BE NOT JUDGED… The only scripture that people seek to hide under in support of the conspiracy of silence is found in Matt 7 v 1-5: Judge not, that ye be not judged. For with what judgment ye judge, ye shall be judged: and with what measure ye mete, it shall be measured to you again. And why beholdest thou the mote that is in thy brother's eye, but considerest not the beam that is in thine own eye? Or how wilt thou say to thy brother, Let me pull out the mote out of thine eye; and, behold, a beam is in thine own eye? Thou hypocrite, first cast out the beam out of thine own eye; and then shalt thou see clearly to cast out the mote out of thy brother's eye. The balanced teaching of this scripture is clear. Don’t be an hypocrite when you judge others. Make sure you are not a culprit in the same sin where you judge others. In other words before you judge others you must deal with your own sin, problems first. This is the teaching of this text. It would appear however as if those who shy away from judging others are themselves caught in the web of similar sins. Granted such persons are disqualified from judging, but it does not excuse the offender. Those who are righteous should go ahead and judge. This is what is referred to as Righteous – Judgement in John 7 v 24: “Judge not according to the appearance, but judge righteous judgment”. We are also instructed to judge them by their fruits not by their gift, status or achievement see Matt 7 v 16-17: “Ye shall know them by their fruits. Do men gather grapes of thorns, or figs of thistles? Even so every good tree bringeth forth good fruit; but a corrupt tree bringeth forth evil fruit”. To Judge Righteously, it must be based on the word of God which is the light and mirror that can expose all manners of lies and deception. No Truth or personal revelation is superior to the written word of God. IT IS VERY IMPORTANT TO SPEAK OUT IN CONDEMNATION OF ERROR & FALSEHOOD The bible does not support the conspiracy of silence! 1Tim 5 v 20: Titus 1 v 13: When we keep silence we have indirectly endorsed their sin before God and men. (1Cor 5 v 11) (1Sam 3 v 13) (2Thess 3 v 6) (1Sam 2 v 17, 22) Most often than not, our silence and unwillingness to judge sin is actually a confirmation that we have “a log in our eye” (Jn 8 v 6-7) When we use silence to cover up sin, we have become partakers in their sins. We become accomplice sin. (1Tim 5 v 22) (Act 7 v 57-58) (Ezek 3 v 17-21) (Eph 5 v 11) One of the duties of the under shepherd is to protect the sheep from the ravenous wolves who are mostly in sheep clothings. This is best done by exposing the wolves. (Matt 7 v 15) (Act 20 v 29) The bible encourages that we restore fallen-saints. This is accomplished when we expose their sins to God’s word and we stand for the truth which will set free. (James 5 v 19-20) (Jn 8 v 32) When we refuse to blow the whistle. Then the blood of the transgressor is on our heads. (Ezek 3 v 8) ( James 5 v 20) DISTURBING CONTROVERSIAL SINS OF CHURCH LEADERS I am particularly disturbed that the church is yet to blow the whistle on the following sins and their offenders. Pastor who involve in Adultery with impunity and are still being covered up under the conspiracy of silence. There is a wrong teaching on the drinking of alcohol which is spreading around like a leaven that seek to leaventh the whole lump. We must all speak up and blow the whistle against this teaching and the teachers. Also there is this very poisonous teaching on masturbation which permit people to indulge in it. From counseling we have discovered must people who masturbate also feast their lust on pornographic materials. They say it is a sin against your body and not God! Please don’t be deceived, your body is the temple of the living God if you are a child of God. it is expected that the church come out with a very clear biblical direction on these issues. Today we have observed several highly placed and famous men of God in Pentecostal circle shamelessly divorcing their wives and then claim that God told them to do so. The church must unilaterally speak with one voice against such sin and their offenders, else the leaven begins to leaveneth the whole lump. My strong opinion is that as long as there is a regulatory body for Christian in Nigeria. The body is responsible to check the excesses of such erring members whether they subscribe to the membership or not. The body must make very clear statements on the truth of God’s word with regards to all or these issues, of course, where these regulatory bodies fail to blow the whistle, it is perceived in many serious quarters that: The body is unserious. Executive members are culprits of similar sins. Church fathers and leaders are not sincere about holiness, eternity and righteousness without which no man shall see the Lord. Church fathers have preferred their denominations to the kingdom of God. The Big question here and now is; In the light of all these controversies, who is on the Lord’s side? Maranatha.
